11am updates from North Stonington Emergency Operations Center

We hope everyone is staying safe.

We have a number of roads that are either blocked or partially blocked including Wintechog, Pinecrest, Princess, and Denison Hill. Some roads are partially closed due to wires. If you approach wires do not go near them, they maybe live. We cannot emphasize this enough, if you see downed wires do not go near them. If you see downed wires without cones around them you can report them to 911.

Rainfall is increasing as is the likelihood of flooding though most drainage systems are continuing to handle the flow. This is a major storm so expect water events to occur and wind to pick up.

Eversource crews are on site in North Stonington and working on outages. They will continue to make restoration so long as it’s safe to do so.

First Selectman Mike Urgo has declared a local state of emergency in line with the State and Federal declarations.

Expect wind and rainfall to increase in the coming hours. Stay inside and be safe.
