Continue to be vigilant about the mosquitoes and take recommended precautions also town hall closed from 9-10am tomorrow for quarterly staff meeting

The Town has participated in the third conference call today regarding the EEE virus found in mosquitoes in the local area with the experts from the State, Ledge Light Health District, and the mosquito management team at the State. It is still high risk since the virus has been found fairly early in the season, however the numbers are diminishing slightly which is good news. We would like to remind everyone to continue to be vigilant and follow the recommended protocols found here…https://llhd.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/EEE-Press-Release-LLHD_Uncas-2019-0827-1.pdf  The town has also placed mosquito dunks in many of the catch basins around town which have a larvicide designed to lessen the potential of further development of adult flying mosquitoes.

For those who are interested in Ledge Light Health Districts Mosquito control program, please see this link and contact them directly… https://llhd.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/LLHD-2019-Larvicide-Flier.pdf

The school and town are both following recommended precautions as outlined by Ledge Light Health District.

Finally and unrelated, the Town Hall will close tomorrow from 9-10am for our quarterly staff meeting.
