First Selectman Weekly Update 8-16-2019

nosto update

Hello North Stonington,

We hope everyone had a great week!

Please mark your calendar for a Community Conversation regarding the village area! It will take place September 7th from 9-11am at the Wheeler Library. Join your neighbors to discuss your thoughts about our town.

Everyone should have received their tax bills by now. Please stop by before the due date to pay your bill or feel free to do-so online here https://www.mytaxbill.org/inet/bill/home.do?town=northstonington . The tax collector is in 9-3 Monday through Friday.

Save the date for NoStoFest 2019! This is a great event celebrating all things North Stonington in our village! It will be held September 21st from 12- 4 and feature live music, food, and lots of entertainment for all ages! If you are interested in participating as a vendor (North Stonington affiliated businesses only) email nostofest@gmail.com to get involved.

The request for proposals for the new tanker truck for the town has been released and we now will look forward to receiving bids during the next month.

We had our first meeting to discuss the idea of a farmer’s market in North Stonington on Monday. It went very well, and we will be scheduling a second meeting soon. Keep an eye out on the updates and/or Facebook events if you wish to be involved in the discussions and planning!

In highway news, mowing and tree trimming continue throughout town. Please continue to drive carefully around work crews when you see them out and about. We are also hiring a Heavy Equipment Operator to join the town’s highway crew. Please see this link and share with anyone who may be well qualified and interested in this position. https://www.indeed.com/jobs?q=highway&l=North%20Stonington%2C%20CT&vjk=a989c71dff12e784
