nosto update

Happy Friday North Stonington,

We hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful weather!

This week we held our 2nd Town Budget Meeting. For those who could not attend, the recording of the meeting is here:https://www.northstoningtonct.gov/home/pages/special-town-meeting-june-15-2021. It was a very informative meeting and we hope everyone can take the time to become informed and then cast your vote on Monday June 28th between the hours of 6am-8pm at the Education Center at 298 Norwich Westerly Road. Absentee ballots are available now by contacting the town clerk at: townclerk@northstoningtonct.gov Please let your voice be heard with your vote!

The day of the vote we are also going to be holding a vaccination clinic from 9-1pm and then from 3-7pm. If you have not had a chance to get your vaccine yet this would be a great opportunity to do so. Ledge Light Health District will be located outside the education center and available to vaccinate anyone who is eligible and answer any questions you may have.

This past Friday we celebrated our graduating class of 2021! It was a wonderful celebration as always and we congratulate all of the graduates and thank the staff and parents for their continued dedication to the future of these scholars.

The highway crew has been busy. This past week we picked up wood from trees that were cut on Main St. 24 large dead trees were cut on Main St, Fowler, Putker, Anna Farm West, and Sleepy Hollow. Wood chips were spread at the rec playgrounds. Town building furnaces were maintained. Mowing was done on Wintechog Hill, Jeremy Hill, Stony Brook, Ella Wheeler, East Clarks Falls, and Denison Hill.

Next week the crew will prep for some paving in Kingswood/Meadowood. Mowing will continue.

This week we received our new tanker for the Volunteer Fire Company. This purchase was approved and ordered two cycles ago. It took a bit longer than expected to come in due to COVID-19 delays but we are thrilled it is here now! Our old tanker was approved to be sold and once training and testing is complete with the new one we will have it in full service. Thanks to all of our volunteers for their efforts to train on this new truck!

The registrars of voters will be holding office hours at the Education Center office space in the Media Center at 298 Norwich Westerly Road on Mondays and Thursdays from 10am-2pm. Should you need to see them for any reason feel free to pop by the office during those times.

That’s it for today, have a great week!
