Weekly update September 10th, Hazardous Waste Collection Day Tomorrow Saturday September 11th, New Staff join us, NoStoFest postponed and more!

nosto update

Tomorrow at The North Stonington Education Center at 298 Norwich Westerly Road the Hazardous waste collection will take place. Please bring any of those items which can not be easily disposed of at the transfer station to this annual event. It takes place from 9-1pm

We are excited to welcome to new staff additions to the town. Our new Planning Development and Zoning officer Nathan Reichert started on Wednesday! We also welcome our new part time Administrative Assistant Cheryl Lynch! We are thrilled to have both on board here with the town to serve your needs.

You may have heard, NoStoFest will be postponed. Event organizers will soon be planning for the event in 2022 but it will not take place this year.

The highway crew has been very busy as usual. A sinkhole was filled on Johnson Road, A large branch was hauled out of Shunock River. A roadway at the transfer station was milled and graded. Waterways were cleared around town and properties were mowed according to schedule. We also cut some large trees at the school.

It seems like only yesterday the tragedy of September 11th, 2001 took place. Lets all take a moment to remember those lives lost and the heroes who fell on that day. We forever remember and are in solidarity with all of those affected by that horrible tragedy.

Be well,

Mike Urgo
