As a reminder the mandatory mask order remains in place if you are where you can't know if 6 foot distance between you and others is possible.  If you don't have a mask, consider seeing this link from the CDC on a very simple way to make one https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/downloads/DIY-cloth-face-covering-instructions.pdf

Governor Lamont has asked for CT residents to use the "How We Feel" app to help the State understand and better track health trends in our state. Please consider downloading the app. It takes only a minute each day to enter info into it which maybe of great help to the Department of Health.

Revaluation in North Stonington continues throughout town. Please check the 2020 revaluation page on our website https://www.northstoningtonct.gov/assessor/pages/2020-revaluation-updates for updates including streets that are next. As a reminder the inspectors will be doing exterior inspections only. Their cars are marked with a magnet on the side pictured below. Thank you for your cooperation and please return the postage paid questionnaire about your house you received two weeks ago if you haven't already done so.

Approximately 66% of North Stonington has filled out their 2020 CENSUS information. We are needing everyone to do this asap so we are allocated the appropriate funding as a State, County, and Town. Please go to www.2020census.gov and follow the instructions to fill it out. It takes only minutes and will ultimately help to keep funding coming our way with tax dollars you pay to the federal government.

Today it is expected the Governor will put out information regarding saftey protocols as it relates to the reopening of some businesses. Please keep an eye on the news or the state website if this is of interest to you or if you are a business owner.

Our Recreation Commission continues to come up with creative ways of providing entertainment to our town. Keep an eye on the North Stonington recreation "group" page to see what is coming soon which includes some announcements this Sunday.

I will be hosting another virtual weekly "drop in" this Thursday evening from 6-7pm. This is an opportunity for residents who want to ask questions about any local happenings to participate in the conversation. I will be joined this time by Ledgelight Health Director Steve Mansfield and Reopen CT advisory group member and Chairman of Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation Rodney Butler. You may join the call by simply calling 1646558865 and using code 81140201062. You may also join using the zoom app.

Finally it is certainly unfortunate that our fair this year along with the Memorial Day parade will not take place. We truly appreciate the thought that went into this from the Fair committee leadership and Lions Club who are the planners of the parade. When these events do return I know we will have a multiplied appreciation for them. We look forward to the days when we will come together for these community events in 2021 for sure.

That’s it for today, we hope everyone has a great week!
