North Stonington Weekly Update 3.26.2021- Vaccine Eligibility Opens Fully April 1, FOIA Training March 29th, Road Closure Next Weekend Route 49 and More!

As of yesterday the Governor officially moved up the opportunity for all people still not included (ages 16+) to get the vaccine beginning April 1st. This is very exciting however we all must remain patient. Vaccine demand still exceeds supply. In time everyone who wishes to be vaccinated will but it may take time to find open appointments. Please keep an eye on https://portal.ct.gov/vaccine-portal/, check with your own physician, or www.llhd.org for updates on vaccine availability. Please continue to wear masks and keep distance as COVID-19 cases still continue to persist in the area and globally.

This week the Highway crew cut and replaced damaged catch basin tops on Jeremy Hill Road and at the transfer station. The bucket truck was used to replace outside lights at the transfer station. Plows were taken off of trucks and material was hauled in for grading dirt roads. A tree was cut and removed on Rocky Hollow. Crack sealing took place at the transfer station and the Center for Emergency Services. Street sweeping began on Main Street. Truck 3 received maintenance and repairs, truck 10 received an oil change, the roller received a new ignition switch, and the school Kubota bucket was installed.

Next week the crew will pave the replaced catch basins. Street sweeping and crack sealing will continue around town. Dirt roads will be graded.
