The Town of North Stonington is actively seeking bids to remove and replace the windows and trim at the John Dean Gallup House located at 14 Hewitt Road, North Stonington, CT 06359.

Background
The John Dean Gallup House is a town owned property located at the Hewitt Farm, purchased in 2008. The house is a significant eighteenth century house listed on the Connecticut State Register of Historic Places, and an important part of our Town’s history. The Town is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the residential property, which is currently occupied by a tenant.
Scope of Work
The Town has purchased new Andersen Woodwright energy efficient windows and needs a licensed contractor for installation.
Bid to include pricing for the following:
The Town will provide a dumpster and dispose of the old windows & trim.
Pre-Bid Walk Through
An optional pre-bid walk through will be held at 9:00am on September 6, 2022 at 14 Hewitt Road, North Stonington CT, 06359.
Instructions to Bidders
Bid Submission
All bids are to be forwarded to the Office of the 1st Selectman, 40 Main Street, North Stonington, CT 06359 by 12:00 P.M. on September 19, 2022. Bids must include a copy of the contractor’s license and insurance as described below. Contractor shall provide a written warranty, minimum of 1 year for installation work prior to the job completion.
Sealed Envelope
Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope clearly labeled “Window and Trim Replacement at John Dean Gallup House.”
Insurance
As a condition to the award of any contract, the successful bidder(s) shall furnish certificates of insurance, including automobile, property and liability, and workers’ compensation insurance minimally as follows:
Property and Liability not less than $1,000,000
Personal Injury and Liability not less than $1,000,000
Workers’ Compensation as required by law
A certificate of insurance naming the Town of North Stonington as an additional insured shall be required.
Bid Award
The Town of North Stonington reserves the right to reject any and all bids that are not in the best interest of the Town. All bids must be valid for at least 60 days.

All questions must be submitted in writing to rcarlson@northstoningtonct.gov no later than 2:00pm on September 9, 2022. Responses will be posted on the Town website. Contractor is responsible for verifying all site conditions and scope of work.
