BIDDING INSTRUCTIONS
 
 
  1. The Town of North Stonington will receive sealed bids for purchase of the 1993 Peterbilt Tanker/Pumper.
  1. Bids will be received until 2:00 P.M., Friday, May 14, 2021 at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud at Town Hall, 40 Main Street, North Stonington, CT.  Any bid received after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids will be returned to the bidder unopened.
  1. Bids must be submitted in sealed envelopes addressed to Office of the First Selectman, Town Hall, 40 Main Street, North Stonington, CT 06359, and must include the words “SEALED BID TANKER/PUMPER” on the outer envelope.  The bidder’s return address shall also be provided on the outer envelope.
  1. All equipment is sold “as is”.
  1. Subject to the rights reserved to the Town of North Stonington in paragraph 6 below, the contract shall be awarded to the highest responsible bidder.
  1. The Town of North Stonington reserves the right to waive technical defects in the bids; to reject any or all bids and again invite bids; and waive informalities or irregularities in the bidding process.
  1. There is a reserve bid amount for this item.
  1. In submitting this bid, bidders agree to complete the transaction within 15 days after the equipment availability date.  The anticipated availability date is June 4, 2021, pending the delivery of the replacement vehicle.
  1. Any bid once deposited with the Town of North Stonington may only be withdrawn by letter of request, signed by the depositing bidder, and presented to the First Selectman of the Town of North Stonington prior to the time of opening of any bid.

  1. Appointments can be made to view the truck on Saturday, May 8th.  Please contact the Selectman’s office selectman@northstoningtonct.gov to schedule a time on that date.
