News alert- morning weather event

This morning a fast moving storm took place and has knocked power out throughout areas of North Stonington. Much of the damage in North Stonington was in the area east of Mystic Pizza to the intersection of Route 49 and between Route 49 and Babcock road. Thankfully it appears there has been very little damage to homes and no injuries reported at this time. Please avoid these areas as you will be detoured. Thanks to our emergency response team and highway crew for their help directing traffic and responding quickly. If you are without power please be patient as there are a great many trees down and trees on wires. Eversource teams are already in the area assessing the damage.
