Questions and Answers about NOSTO Summer Playground Camp

1. Is there playground camp this year?  Yes, there is seven weeks of camp starting June 22nd from 8:30 to 11:30 please see North Stonington recreation website for more information at northstoningtonrec.com

2. What is the group size?  Camps max is 30 children.  There will be group size of 10 children to 2 counselors. Children will stay in the same group for the whole week.  Siblings will be in the same group.

3. How will groups be picked?  Staff will do their best to place children with common interest in the same group.

4. Do the children need to stay 6 ft apart?  No per OEC guidance.

5. Will the children be wearing masks?  If parents want to send their child in with a mask they can as long as the child can safely keep it on.  Per OEC children are not required to wear a mask.

6. Will camp staff be wearing masks?  Camp Staff will wear masks when they are not able to keep a 6foot distance from a child.  Children are not required to wear masks.

7. Will we be sanitizing/cleaning surfaces/items throughout the day?  Yes

8. Will Healthy Hygiene behavior be practiced?  Yes, Children and staff will be encouraged to use healthy hygiene practice. (wash hands regularly with soap and water or hand sanitizer.)

9. Will children be health screened before camp?  All children will have their temperature taken daily with a touchless thermometer.  If a child has a fever of 100.40 (38.00C) or above or other signs of illness should not be admitted to the facility.

10. Will staff be screened at beginning of shift?  Yes, Same as the children.

11. What will happen if a child becomes ill during camp?  If a child becomes ill during camp hours they will be separated from other children and parents will be notified immediately to come and pick them up.  All other families will be notified that a child has become ill.  All information regarding ill child will be kept confidential.
