The town hall, transfer station, and North Stonington Schools will be closed tomorrow (1/4/2017) in anticipation of the storm.

A winter storm warning has been issued for tomorrow (Thursday 1/4). Please The added complications of forecasted heavy wet snow and wind, make the likelihood of power outages even greater. With these low temperatures, power outages take-on an added urgency.  Please consider the following precautions…

- have a three day supply of food 
- have sufficient water (one gallon per person, per day, for three days)
- purchase batteries/flashlights
- purchase needed medications to get them through the storm
- purchase gas for your generator (if you have one)
- keep cell phones and laptops charged
- check on other family members, neighbors, & pets  who may not have heat and offer them shelter (do not leave pets outside)
- If you can, shelter in place (at home), and keep roads clear for emergency services and plows.
