Urgent: Winter Storm Warning Updated

BLIZZARD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 AM FRIDAY MORNING.

Southern CT is experiencing Blizzard conditions. Travel will be dangerous to impossible. Due to the associated winds, damage to trees and power lines is possible. Storm total accumulations of 12-18 inches are expected.

Temperatures are forecast to drop back to the teens on Friday morning. With these low temperatures, power outages take-on an added urgency. 

Please consider the following precautions:

- If you can, please shelter in place (at home) and keep roads clear for emergency services and plows 

- keep cell phones and laptops charged

- check on your family members, neighbors, & pets who may not have heat and offer them shelter (do not leave pets outside).

The town has been in contact with Eversource and they are ready throughout the state with crews. Please realize crews will not be dispatched in dangerous conditions when high winds are present.
