Inland Wetlands Minutes Approved

1.   CALL TO ORDER:

 

Vice-Chair Mark Grigg called the Regular Meeting of the Inland Wetlands Commission to order on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at 7:00 p.m.

 

COMMISSIONERS PRESENT:

 

Mark Grigg, Vice-Chair, Cody Bill, Kevin Geary, Candy Palmer, Ron Lewis, Marvin Chase, Jr. and Mac Gray

 

COMMISSIONERS ABSENT:  Asa Palmer and Robert Miner

3.   MINUTES:

 

Review minutes of Regular meeting of 02/08/17

 

MOTION by C. Palmer, SECOND by M. Chase to approve the draft minutes of 02/08/17 as written.  MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY

 

4.   PUBLIC COMMENT:  None

 

5.   OLD BUSINESS

 

#17-004 Application of Bruce & Linda Wilkinson, 389E Wyassup Road, North Stonington, CT  06359 to construct a single-family seasonal use residence on property located at 389D Wyassup Road (off Armstrong Pentway) in an R-80 Zone.  Tax Map #70, Lot #3034

Mr. Wilkinson was not present for this application, Robert Melinosky, of Residential Design was present and represented Mr. Wilkinson. 

 

The Commission discussed and would like to see the house moved around 15 feet forward.  The applicant will return with revised plans to the Commission’s April 12th meeting.

 

6.  NEW BUSINESS

 

A. #17-013 Application of Robert Melinosky, 203 Reuteman Road, North Stonington, CT  06359 to construct 3 accessory buildings (2 detached garages & a barn) on property located at 203 Reuteman Road in an R-80 Zone.  Tax Map 103, Lot #0523

 

Mr. Robert Melinosky was present for this application.

 

Mr. Melinosky went over his plans with the Commission for 2 detached garages and a barn on the property.  The Commission members will do individual site walks of the property and the applicant will return for the Commission’s April 12th meeting.

 

B.  #17-014 Application of B&M Landscaping, 95 Stillman Road, North Stonington, CT 06359 to raise the grade of area behind existing building on property located at 323 Clarks Falls Road in the HC Zone, Tax Map #112, Lot #0261

 

Brian & Melissa Hoitt were present for this application.

 

Mr. Hoitt went over the plan and stated they were proposing a garden center/nursery with all pervious surface.

 

The Commission asked general questions of the application and the applicant’s will return for the Commission’s April 12th meeting.

 

7.   DISCUSSION

 

Nathan Cherenzia to present his Eagle Scout Project on the Hewitt property Dew Drop Inn Trail

 

Nathan Cherenzia came before the Commission to propose a 30 foot bridge over the Dew Drop Inn Trail.  Mr. Cherenzia stated 4 posts would be put in with a back hoe and the other 4 would be dug by hand, and they would not be in the water but on the bank. 

 

The Commission directed Mr. Cherenzia to fill out an application and WEO Berardi would sign off on it.

MOTION by C. Palmer, SECOND by C. Bill to adjourn the Inland Wetlands Commission Meeting at 7:43 p.m.  MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
